A tough decision well made

A Blue on the Road September 24, 2018October 25, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Everton 1 – West Ham 3 and River Plate 4 – San Martin 1 Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti, Buenos Aires It is never easy choosing to not watch Everton and it never happens without good reason. Travel Journal September 22, 2018September 24, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

I feel like I need to set a few things straight after my last blog post. I’m not a journalist travelling to various places to report on some objective facts, I’m just a lad travelling from place to place with his girlfriend and this blog is just a way for me to document what we …

Travel Journal September 20, 2018September 24, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Buenos Aires is a truly magnificent city, it is plain to see. It looks like a tired old town though. From crumbling pavements to makeshift train station platforms there is a lot of work that needs doing if this city is to shine like it should. You notice signs promising the work, but away from …

Buenos Aires Part 1: Chaos and fire, but no spark

Travel Journal September 16, 2018September 20, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

When you step off the plane in Buenos Aires it doesn’t take long before the chaos hits you. You stand in an orderly line, you hand over your passport, the nice man welcomes you to his country, you go through to get your luggage, and then boom. Total chaos. There are sniffer dogs randomly walking …

Travel Journal September 14, 2018September 20, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

A moment can be anything, from a split second, to a day, a week or even a year. Moments are relative. If I get the chance to look back on all this in years to come then maybe I’ll see this whole trip as a single big moment. The time Lindsay and me went traveling. …

After our Margie’s wedding down in Dungarvan we drove Nothwest acoss Ireland to get to Achill Island. My mum’s dad is from Achill, and he was a strong man who we loved dearly. It was great to take Lindsay to a place that is like a spiritual home to our family and watch as its …

Irish wedding hangover

A Blue on the Road August 28, 2018October 4, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saturday 25th August: Bournemouth 2 – Everton 2 Dungarvan, Ireland The second wedding in a week meant that, despite being in the company of some top top blues, the Bournemouth game was not a top priority this week. The match kicked off while we were in church so the chances of catching some Everton action, …

Seduced by the old lady

A Blue on the Road August 21, 2018October 4, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saturday 18th August: Everton 2 – Southampton 1 Goodison Park, Liverpool Is right Figo lad, you never let me down. Lindsay and me are in Liverpool to see two of my best mates get married, the day before the first Everton home game of the season and, without having to ask, you box me off …

Misplaced confidence?

A Blue on the Road August 15, 2018October 4, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saturday 11th August: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 – Everton 2 Shamrock bar, Barcelona Spain The first game of Marco Silva’s first season as Everton manager would be the only one I’d catch at home. Saying that, as an expat Evertonian living in Barcelona a home to watch the match hasn’t existed since The Loch Inn closed …

About us

We are Paddy and Lindsay, a lad from Liverpool and a girl from Manchester who have been living in Barcelona for a while now. For the next few months we'll be leaving our Catalan home and heading out onto the road. We want to see the world together so we're heading off in search of adventure and to see how far we can get. We'll be traveling through the Americas, Australia, and then up through Asia from the South. We hope to see the Himalayas and make it through India to Sri Lanka, but for now we're simply taking every day as it comes...
