Looking back and pushing forward

Travel Journal October 16, 2018November 1, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saying goodbye to Argentina My last meal in Argentina was filete rellena. It couldn’t have been a more fitting final meal to see me off from this fantastic country. The waiter brought me this ridiculously huge steak. The sheer size and scale of the thing was beyond my comprehension. I knew immediately I was in …

Salta, we salute you

Travel Journal October 14, 2018October 25, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

It didn’t take long at all. We climbed off the night bus into Salta at around 11:00. We knew we couldn’t check in to our room until 13:00 but flew by the place we were staying to drop our backs off. Rather than just grabbing breakfast at a local confiteria, Maria who we were staying …

Back on the road and back in business

Travel Journal October 10, 2018October 25, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Travelling west across Argentina It has been great staying in Puerto Iguazu for a week, even if things didn’t go exactly as planned. Since we left Barcelona, we’ve had a manic few weeks. We moved around a lot in the UK, while squeezing in all sorts of activities like weddings, catching up with family and …

Sunday 23rd September: Arsenal 2 – Everton 0 and Boca Juniors 0 – River Plate 2 Puerto Iguazu, Argentina Jesus, this was supposed to be easy, it? A simple section on my travel blog where I talk about trying to watch Everton while I’m going to loads of places around the world I’ve always wanted …

Rained in and planning ahead

Travel Journal October 2, 2018October 25, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

So, after a rather comfortable 18-hour bus journey from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu we find ourselves within touching distance of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, but still a week away from getting there. We arrived here on the morning of Sunday September 23rd and that is the only day the weather has …

Travel Journal September 25, 2018October 25, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

We’ve been quite busy running around a lot, so I’m a bit behind on what we’ve been up to. We’ve just got back into Argentina after a four-day trip to Uruguay. Those four days in the South American country with the highest standard of living are in the backlog though, for now I’m concentrating on …

Travel Journal September 14, 2018September 20, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

A moment can be anything, from a split second, to a day, a week or even a year. Moments are relative. If I get the chance to look back on all this in years to come then maybe I’ll see this whole trip as a single big moment. The time Lindsay and me went traveling. …

Irish wedding hangover

A Blue on the Road August 28, 2018October 4, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saturday 25th August: Bournemouth 2 – Everton 2 Dungarvan, Ireland The second wedding in a week meant that, despite being in the company of some top top blues, the Bournemouth game was not a top priority this week. The match kicked off while we were in church so the chances of catching some Everton action, …

Seduced by the old lady

A Blue on the Road August 21, 2018October 4, 2018 by Paddy Devaney

Saturday 18th August: Everton 2 – Southampton 1 Goodison Park, Liverpool Is right Figo lad, you never let me down. Lindsay and me are in Liverpool to see two of my best mates get married, the day before the first Everton home game of the season and, without having to ask, you box me off …

About us

We are Paddy and Lindsay, a lad from Liverpool and a girl from Manchester who have been living in Barcelona for a while now. For the next few months we'll be leaving our Catalan home and heading out onto the road. We want to see the world together so we're heading off in search of adventure and to see how far we can get. We'll be traveling through the Americas, Australia, and then up through Asia from the South. We hope to see the Himalayas and make it through India to Sri Lanka, but for now we're simply taking every day as it comes...
